Welcome to the new TOMIC  challenge : Use a paper bag on your project and get inspired by the photograph.  As you probably know, Magnolia is a swedish company and that's why we decided this week to give you an inspiration picture which represents the "Dalahäst" or "Dalahorse". The Dalahorse is one of the unofficial symbols of Sweden and is comes from the northern part of the country called Dalarna. Originally, this horse was a toy for children to play with during the long winter days. After that, the colors were brought to the horse and the most famous one is the red one. This horse represented Sweden at the World Exhibition in New York in 1939, and became internationally known. The biggest of those horses measures 13 meters and is situated near the Swedish town of Avesta. So bring out your bright colors for this weeks challenge!

TOMIC # 22 - Create a basket (tutorial)

Welcome to TOMIC new challenge : This week we want you to create a basket and to decorate it with Magnolia stamps. Here is a tutorial i made to give you some ideas. This tutorial is just for inspiration and of course you can create any basket you want as long as you use Magnolia stamps to decorate it.

This is the basket i am making a tutorial for. It's an easy made basket in 4 steps.

STEP 1

Cut out 2 flare dies (14x14cm) in cardstock. Choose a printed paper (here, i chose to use Magnolia "strawberry plaid") and cut out 2 other flare dies but somehow smaller than the first ones.

STEP 2

In the same cardstock, cut 2 pieces called A and 1 piece called B following the measurement of the picture.

STEP 3

You will now fix the sides you just prepared as shown in the picture and there you have the structure of the basket.

STEP 4

Make a handle cutting a 2x30cm band in the same cardstock and decorate it with lace on the sides and printed Magnolia paper inside (1cm large).Decorate the other side too for a greater effect. Fix this handle in the inside of the structure with 2 brads.
 
Decorate your basket as you want and fill with candies or scrap stuff to make someone really happy!!!
